Resizing windows

Hi,

Using resizable windows in SDL always generates an ugly black area
at the right side, in advance of the actual risizing. Is there
absolutely no single remedy for this, if necessary not quite 100%
portable?

You didn’t say which OS you were having this issue on, which ones have
you tried it on? I know in Haiku we’re having issues with black
areas, sometimes on the right, other times on the top/left sides.

My OS is Linux, Ubuntu 8.10. The black area is the yet unpainted screen.
I would be happy if it would be filled with some color of my choice.
