Saving bitmaps

i want to do a map editor for my game, and i stuck

i must load bitmap from file and display it on a screen and it’s easy,
but now i must save e.g. 1/2 of this image to one file, and rest of bitmap
to the second file
can i do this with SDL_SaveBMP? how? if now, how to do this?

TIA

Perhaps:

  • create a new surface
  • copy exaclty what you need to save in it.
  • save it.

My name is Thiago Bassani and I?m developoing a game that the main part
is drawn in flash(The animation of all actors, and the movies). And I would like
to put this flash animations in C++ or Delphi(loading the flash files). Do u
know some way to load flash animations in C++(SDL or other) or Delphi?

Thank you.-------------------------------------------------

You mean to implement a Flash player inside a game and use this as
sprites ??? I think that reading this format is not so simple.

I’ve never hurd such that…

Consider using some vector format (if you need) like emf, wmf, ai, eps,
ps, etc, inside your game, and implement the functions to read these
file formats and draw them using SDL.

Good luck,
