Scrolling examples

Where did that original non-parallax scrolling example go? (The ones
that the parallax examples at olofson.net are based on.)

Maybe I should reconstruct a really simple, one-layer scroller from
the parallax examples? Maybe it’s time for smoothscroll 2.0, with
correct handling of edges between tiles that don’t fit together?
Scrolling + sprites with SDL and OpenGL? Decoupled logic and video
frame rates with interpolation, as seen in Kobo Deluxe?

What do people want to see?

(Not that I have too much time on my hands or anything, but most of
these things shouldn’t take me too long to hack, and trying to
explain stuff with working code is rather inspiring at times.)

Yes to all of the above  - perhaps except OpenGL for now, as far as
I’m concerned - just pure SDL. Or maybe a pure SDL version and a
functionally equivalent version with OGL thrown in. Please.

Well, I think I’ll start with trying to make basic scrolling as simple
as possible. Then I’ll think about what to do next.

However, there is a certain game that’s pretty much ready for the next
major release… I’ll deal with that first.
