# SDL 1.2.5 on MinGW

I can’t seem to get SDL 1.2.5 to compile on MinGW. I installed MSYS and  
then installed MinGW to /mingw in the MSYS tree. However, when I try to  
run ‘make’ on the SDL source, I get some errors:

at this line:  
lib /OUT:.libs/libarch.al dummy.lo

I get this error:  
LIB : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file  
"C:\msys\1.0\OUT;.libs\[libarch.al](http://libarch.al)"  
make[2]: \*\*\* [[libarch.la](http://libarch.la)] Error 157  
make[2]: Leaving directory `/c/Documents and Settings/calvin/My Documents/SDL-1.2.5/src/main' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory`/c/Documents and Settings/calvin/My  
Documents/SDL-1.2.5/src’  
make: \*\*\* [all-recursive] Error 1

Are there any extra steps I might be missing?
