Forgive the question but can someone tell me honestly, is SDL 1.3 in a state suitable for use commercially,
that is, there are no critical bugs that will screw up a development team and cause a company to spend loads
of time (read: money) fixing/hacking it?
i.e., if you had to recommend it to your boss and your job was on the line for it, what would your answer be?
Also, is multi-monitor support now fully implemented? From the emails flying around on multiple windows, I assume
it is?
Many Thanks
Ed

It depends on what you need it for. Fullscreen / multi-monitor support
are not complete, and international input is going to get a revamp.
Otherwise it’s pretty solid. You can take a look at the TODO list in
the SDL 1.3 source archive if you want a more complete list of the
things still planned before final release.
See ya!

Is the final release to be 2.0? Is the dll already differentiated
(i.e. not named SDL.dll)?

Hi Sam
Thanks for the answer! Fullscreen and multi-monitor are the two fundamental items in the decision so
I guess we’ll have to wait a while longer. I am sure it’ll be worth it though :-p

That’s the plan, though I haven’t worked out all the details.
