SDL Alpha patch

Hi everyone:

Here is a patch I’ve worked on the past couple days to
improve the accuracy of alpha-blits… It certainly
isn’t yet ready for prime time, but I was wondering
what kind of affect it had on performance on different
systems. I’m especially interested in 555 vs 565 vs
888 performance. I’m also interested in any advice on
making it faster. Also, please let me know if you see
any unexpected artifiacts. I really don’t expect
anyone will notice too much in the way of actualy
visual improvement, and my bigger concern is
accumulation errors, but if anyone wants to suggest a
good way to test the differences in this and the older
alpha code, I’m open to sugestions.

Thanks in advance for your help,

-Loren

P.S. Sam, This is probably restating the obvious, but
this code is NOT ready for prime-time yet, please
don’t apply it to CVS at this time. Thanks…__________________________________________________

base64 it I would have gzipped it… If anyone has
trouble with base64, and wants it as ASCII, email me
off list.

Never put attachments to mail you send to mailing lists if they’re longer than 30 lines, or if they’re not (like
in this case) essential for the understanding of the mail. Much better upload them on your site and then give a
link.
