SDL and kde question

Hi All,

I’m not a regular member to this list, so I hope the mailing list will
allow me to post…

Anyway, I have a question about installing the sdl-devel package on my
Redhat 7.2 box. I’m a gnome guy, and I don’t have anything to do with
kde installed.

Yet, when I try to install the SDL-devel rpm, it says that it requires
"kdelibs-sound-devel", and thus by extension, kdelibs-sound,
kdelibs-devel, pcre-devel, and also kdelibs.

This seems excessive. Is this dependency on kde something that can be
removed easily? I’m currently trying to install the SDL-devel-1.2.2-3 .

As I mentioned before on the list, I’m not a regular member of the list
so please reply directly to my email address (it’s legit, even though it
doesn’t look it)…

Thanks,
Dave

Try installing SDL 1.2.4:
