SDL, AVI, QuickTime... ugh!

Hi! I have been looking around for long for making movies display on
SDL, but without succeed. Can anyone give a clue about it? More
specific, i want to be able to use the frames information inside a
SDL application and modify it apperance (like a filter).

Thanks a lot.–

Any reason you can’t use MPEG instead of AVI/Quicktime?

I wrote an app that applies filters to MPEG videos as they’re played,
using SDL and SMPEG:

You can also look at ffmpeg ( http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/index.php ). It
natively reads a variety of formats and includes ffplay, a simple SDL based
movie player, that you can use as a template.

Ups, well, i do have a lot of AVI/Quicktime videos that i want to use.
Obviously, after placing the original post, i continued researching
and i found the FFmpeg project. Now i’m dealing with the almost
impossible problem of having windows libraries for the FFmpeg.
