[SDL-CVS] [2720] trunk/SDL/src/audio/baudio/SDL_beaudio.cc: Added int32 and float32 support (and some others!) to BeOS audio backend

Hello !

Added int32 and float32 support (and some others!) to BeOS audio backend.
Untested: No BeOS system here for compiling!

Is it possible to use BeOS under VMware ?
How is Zeta different from BeOS ?

Is it possible to use BeOS under VMware ?

Last I tried, it wouldn’t boot. I’ve never found a virtual machine that
could boot BeOS (I’ve tried vmware, Virtual PC, twoOStwo, Parallels,
Bochs…) I’ve been told that its kernel really behaves badly when the
hardware clock isn’t accurate, which it isn’t on a virtual machine.

It’s getting progressively harder to find real hardware that can boot
it, too. I have an Pentium 2 machine in the closet, I might try that.

Zeta, etc might be a different story.

How is Zeta different from BeOS ?

Beats me.

Zeta is pretty much a clone of BeOS. They use SDL with very few
modifications (I think only to the make files) so Zeta should be fine
for testing.

It also boots on modern hardware - I was running it on an Athlon 1400,
VIA KT133A based machine. I didn’t try it under vmWare but it could
work - they rewrote a lot of the kernel.–
