SDL_INet Library needed!

A small sampling of browsers used often with Linux include:

  • Netscape * Konqueror * Mozilla
  • Lynx * Galeon * Skipstone

And Links, Opera, W3, Amaya, ViewML, …

-bill!

each [browser] has it’s own way of doing things that requires certain other
things to be true (like having KDE running, for example  )

With something like Lynx, we would assume the user has set up a shell
script like so, for example, though:

#!/bin/sh

xterm -e lynx “$1”

-bill!
(my last followup to this thread; i promise!)

Great! Have you found a way to get res-switching support? DrawSprocket
seems to be broken still on MacOS X.

I have projects to build SDL.framework and SDLMixer.framework if you want
them. I will be posting these soon.

I also have projects (for frameworks) for zlib and libPNG, if anyone is
interested.

I’m new to programming on the Mac. I’m a embedded avionics
guys who uses UNIX at work. I used TuxRacer as a test case
of how difficult it would be to port some code to OS X.
I don’t know what res-switching is. I am interested in the
projects to get SDL and SDLMixer into Framework format. Right
now I’m just doing the traditional UNIX “./configure ; make”.On Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at 04:12 PM, Darrell Walisser wrote:

We’ve been using Win2k & SDL for some time now with no special problems.

Hello Sam !! I know this is OFFTOPIC so this is my last message to this TOPIC :

PS: New HUGI 22 is out !!! Download it at http://www.virtually.at/hugi/lhugi22.htm

The MAG SYS of hugi works with Simple HTML Files and there you can set Links to Pages and
Links to EMails. Okay if there is no StandardBrowser like in WINDOWS, on most/all systems you can
detect to what EXE File the Fileextension “HTML” “HTM” is directed and then execute this EXE File.
Please send me CodeSamples to wizard at synthetic-crew.de how to detect these EXE File and how
to start them. I need complete Functions because i don?t have some of the OSes that SDL supports.

THANKS !!

and no code samples :=(

I am working on a port of The HUGI Diskmag to SDL ( www.hugi.de surf to the site it is in english ).
When you are reading an Article in the MAG you can click on URLs and EMail Links.
How can i detect under LINUX, BEOS, MACOS … what the Standard Browser is ???
How can i start it on the different OSes ?? How to detect the Standard Email Client ???
How to start it ??? Please post Code Samples how this looks at your SYSTEM/OS !!!

THANKS !!

Hi,

I’m working on a crossplatform game that supports Linux, Win98 and Win2k.
Are there any known problems with SDL 1.1.18 and Win2k?

I recommend SDL 1.2.0, and I don’t know of any problems with Win2k.

See ya,

Well, first of all zlib already comes with MacOSX, it was in a
Zip.framework in the PubBeta, and is now back to a lib in /usr/lib, i
beleive.
