# SDL\_Init problem

I have recently downloaded and installed SDL 1.1.5 successfully.

However I have attempted to run the test programs and a program of my own  
which call SDL\_Init() but each program crashes with no messages.

I am working with SuSE 7.0 and KDE 1.1.x.

Any suggestions?
