No, it doesn’t help…
It seems that, on this particular configuration,
X11 is locked at the color-depth of the desktop.
No surfaces are available (HW, OGL, DB etc) at
any color-depth except that of the desktop…
Seems to be a “local” problem. I’m running on
Ubuntu 8.04 x64 with an integrated graphics
AMD R3200 (780G chipset).
I’ll install both Ubuntu x64 and Gentoo x64 on
another machine here with different graphics
hardware.
I’m also mowing through X11 to see if I find
anything.
