So, who’s up for a redesign of the wallpaper on libsdl.org ;))

Congrats to both the winner, and the
"I-got-the-most-votes-but-didn’t-win"-guy

Which one of these were the rest made from anyways? (Somewhat curious.)

It is currently being worked on but I don’t know by who ;-). And the new
design looks pretty cool.

btw: if you are the person currently working on the new design, could
you contact me by email? I’d like to talk to you…

Arne holds the copyright. He gave us complete permission to use it
for free and also for commercial use (software boxes, T-Shirts,…).

We decided not to use FDL or something similar that could lead to
forks or other products with similar logos, and this wouldn’t be wise.

can one that creates an application with sdl put the sdl logo onto the
game box (just for example),
can one modify the looks of the logo, with for example, effects?
(just imagen sdl logos all around instead of direct x ;p)

there you see why this logo was prefered… you can even recognize it on
the sweat-shirt top-left and t-shirt top-right from higher distance.

I finished the T-Shirt stuff this night. See:

great work :)–

A German SDL Developer…

can one that creates an application with sdl put the sdl logo onto the
game box (just for example),

Yes, It’s also free for commercial use.

can one modify the looks of the logo, with for example, effects?

I think it is not good to modify the logo. A logo should rise the
recognition of SDL. Okay, maybe none would complain…

what i meant is for example the box is blue and white and you add a
black border around it, or a shadow.
or the whole box is made black and white only, just everything, then you
convert the logo to black and white.

hope that would not cause problems.

oki
just check out

again and set up the optimal liscense yourself… i dont want it to be
my fault if anyone isnt happy ;p–

No, this is no problem. We are not so strict, we just want to prevent
that other products use a little modified logo of ours for their stuff.
That is all.
