SDL logos

Hi all,

I’ve added a new rendition to the bottom of the page. Check it out.

Just out of curiosity, you don’t place any restriction on the usage for
these, do you? (i.e., can people start using them right now without
asking permission first?)On Fri, 2002-08-02 at 23:31, Robert Wohleb wrote:

Hi!

I think we should do a webpage, where all the logo-suggestions are stored,
so we don’t have to click through 100+ webpages to see all suggestions.
(Only the newsgroup text sometimes is a little hard to imagine
I would be willing to do so, but I only have html-webspace and would have
to put the logos up by hand. Maybe someone has some php-space, where
everybody can post up his suggestions in addition to posting his comments
in the newsgroup.

I don’t see a problem with this except for it being different than other
logos used to represent SDL. Also, I would like to state that these graphics
should only be used for SDL purposes. The last thing I want to see is
someone take this and make money off of my work

Hi all,

I’ll see if I can’t get something up like this over the weekend unless
someone beats me to it.

hehe, i guessed that somebody would have this idea, too. :-)) are these
the kind of patterns you had in mind? what do you like best?

Just another thought, instead of having Gears or Circuits could we not
have a partial view of some very common Initialisation commands that are
use for DirectX, XWindows, PS2 etc, maybe in a crosswords type thing
with the SDL layer image on top. But obviously the Initialisation
commands would have to be very well known in their respective domains etc.

just another thought.

I’m biased towards blue just because I like it

However this gave me a sweet idea for an intor cut scene to show the logo.
Have three of these logos; red, green, blue. Pu them in a line and then have
them come together in the middle for a full color version of the logo.

I don’t know if this is indeed relevant any more, but
I have 20Mb of Perl and PHP enabled webspace, and I
certainly have some of it free…

…unfortunately I last touched PHP and Perl over 3
years ago, so I don’t know how to implement what
you’re after! Send me something to put up, and I’ll
do it :)__________________________________________________

should we take the top 5 (or so) winners and have a run off? or even give
some opportunity to them to flesh out their designs a bit more?

for example, some designs might not make great icons, but maybe we vote more
on overall appeal and allow the designers to address that in the 2nd
go-round.

I think we should take the 5 top winners, and have another contest but not
allow any changing. There are already entries there that work at any size,
such as the opengl-ish one.On 02-Feb-2004, Miles Vignol wrote:
