SDL_MasksToPixelFormatEnum() and 24 bits images

Hello,

Some weeks ago I asked on this mailling list about a possible bug with
the function SDL_MasksToPixelFormatEnum() and 24 bits images (which
seemed to not be handled at all by this function). It causes me some
problems when using SDL_image with OpenGL. I even filled a bug with a
patch (http://bugzilla.libsdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=608), but no news
about it (neither a reply on the list, nor in bugzilla), so I ask again.
Moreover, this function does not handle endianess and I wonder if it’s
normal (handled elsewhere) or not.

Is there someone who can quickly look at it? Besides, is there anyone
interested about it at all? Thank you in advance.
