SDL merchendise

Hi everybody out here,

some days ago, I made some merchendise stuff for
libsdl.de, the German SDL site.

Then I thought,I could also do this with other
libSDL stuff. So I took some logos of the past
"new logo contest" (fall 2003?) and made some
products out of it.

At this point, I want to mention two things:

  1. I asked every designer of the logos, if
I may use them for the SDL merchendise stuff.
(Except Andre Schnabel, who’s email bounced every time)

  2. This will be COMPLETELY non-profit. The profit with
the libsdl.de objects will be used to pay the libsdl.de webserver,
all other money will be donated to SDL related stuff,
mainly Sam. But I’d like to see that maybe some other
SDL related stuff can get some money (I want feedback here.
    Any ideas ?)

So I took the easy way, set up the basic shop at cafepress
(i it sells good, we can upgrade to offer more products)
and now want your feedback. I designed some basic stuff
I thought it looks good, but I will maybe offer other objects
with other logos.

A word to the profit. We’ll get about 1-2 Dollars profit per Object.
I think Sam and also the logo designers can always ask me about
the sellings and current incoming. I have nothing to hide here

Okay, so far. Now:

  1. what do you think about it generally

  2. do you have other logos which you think would
    look great on a t-shirt ?

  3. do you have the existing logos in better resolution ?

Thanks for your help and ideas

Oh, and of course, you can see all objects here:

So long, and thanks for all the code ;-)–

Okay, so far. Now:

  1. what do you think about it generally

I think as long as Sam has’nt said anything against it then it’s fine
with us, in fact a few years back a lot of us at #sdl discussed SDL
T-shirts and coffee mugs, but none of us knew about cafepress back
then (if they even existed). We always knew that a small niche market
did exist for SDL merchandise.

  1. do you have other logos which you think would
    look great on a t-shirt ?

I’m not sure but I doubt it, I bounced the idea with Sam way before
the logo contest (so far back I bet he does’nt remember) about needing
a SDL logo that looks good in print, though I envisioned it for
software boxes, not merchandise. Ideally something in a
vector/publishing format like postscript. Maybe it’s time for another
logo contest?

  1. do you have the existing logos in better resolution ?

Hopefully someone on the list can help you with this one.>
