SDL_net port for iPhone

Hello!

I’m doing my final year university project that consists in porting a open
source game with SDL to the iPhone.
The problem is the game has network functionality and I’ve not found the
port of SDL_net.
I would like to know if anyone is developing it before I try to do it for
myself. Someone else is interested in this project?

Thank you everyone for your help,–
Anna

I can’t imagine that an iPhone port would be difficult, given the
iPhone shares a lot in common with the newer Mac operating system.
Have you tried building it for the iPhone yet? You might find it is
much easier than you think.

Hello Brian,

Thanks for your fast response!
Yes, that’s what I was thinking. I planned to make the port using the
SDL_net port for Mac as a reference.
No, not yet. I’m using a toolchain in Linux in order to compile code because
I don’t have a Mac. I will let you know when I try it.

actually you just need to select Static Library in the Active Target menu
and an iPhone SDK under the project settings, then you can link it and use
it in any iphone application.

i do suggest you that you use a mac to compile the library: in the time you
set up the correct paths and the thirdparty cross devtools for iphone under
linux you would have already ported sdl_net to android, windowsce, symbian,
haiku and (insert lesser know os here)

bye
