I’ve been itching to work on a networking game for a while now, but have
no flippin’ clue how to go about it.
So, I went to check out the SDL_net library. I’ve installed GUIlib
successfully (in defaulted /usr/local/lib) and have even used it in other
small projects. But when I run the configure script in SDL_net-1.0.2 I
get:
checking for GUI_Create in -lGUI… (cached) no
configure: warning: *** Can’t find the GUI library - not building test programs
The GUI library can be found at:
http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/SDL/projects/GUIlib/
I checked in the configure script, but I couldn’t see how to force it to
look in /usr/local/lib (and don’t understand them enough to figure it
out).
My question is this, does anyone have a simple SDL_net example that does
not depend on GUIlib (or anything other than SDL & SDL_net, maybe even
SDL_mixer or SDL_image)? Perhaps a simple MUD or MOO game… idunno.
Thx in advance.–
