There’s lots of news on the SDL website:

  • The official German SDL website has been launched: www.libsdl.de
  • SDL-Grundlagen und Grafik, a german tutorial on SDL basics and graphics
    has been added to the tutorials page.
  • A great interview with Bill Kendrick, author of Circus Linux, Defendguin,
    and many other games, has been added to the articles page.
  • enigma, Enigma is a puzzle game inspired by Oxyd on the Atari ST and
    Rock’n’Roll on the Amiga, has been added to the games page.
  • OpenPictureSpace, Thumbnail image viewer recursing into your directories,
    has been added to the applications page.
  • xu4, Ultima IV for modern operating systems, has been added to the games
    page.
  • A great interview with Michael Speck, author of LTris and LBreakout, has
    been added to the articles page.
  • SDL Duell, A very small alien duelling game, has been added to the games
    page.
  • stoned, 3d curling simulation, has been added to the games page.
  • Wax_2D - Tiling engine, first try to make a sim city like (2D map editor
    is in progress), has been added to the applications page.
  • Particle Simulation, spray up to 60.000 animated particles in realtime,
    has been added to the demos page.
  • Bomns for Linux, the best old-school deathmatch game EVER, has been added
    to the games page.
  • SDL_draw, fast drawing primitives library on SDL surfaces (line, circle,

  • SymphonieNG, next generation music composing software using OpenGL for

  • A new Euphoria binding of SDL by Mark Akita has been added to the languages
    page.
  • Seraphim, A 3D mmorpg - in memories of Alchera, has been added to the
    games page.
  • Falsoyd, A small desktop shoot 'em up written in c++, has been added to
    the games page.
  • GL-117, an OpenGL- and SDL-based action flight simulator written in C++,
    has been added to the games page.
  • Tux Paint, a simple and entertaining drawing program for young children,
    has been added to the applications page.
  • GaMMiLL, A simple, tennis-like game (very simple), has been added to the
    games page.
  • Fading, a fading technique using a black Surface in stead of expensive
    pixel operations, has been added to the demos page.
  • AKICHAN, political correct first person shooter, has been added to the
    games page.
  • Height Map Editor, a 2D terrain editor, has been added to the applications
    page.
  • Triptych, a fast paced physics simulation of tetris, has been added to
    the games page.
  • ASLLA, American Sign Language Learning Aid (ASLLA) designed to help
    non-ASL learn ASL, has been added to the applications page.
  • Phobia III, A redefinition of alien slaughter, has been added to the
    games page.
  • SDL_Arnold, A sound board featuring the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger,
    has been added to the applications page.
  • AirPONG, a Pong-Clone using SDL, has been added to the games page.
  • XtremeLabyrinth, OpenGL version of old, wood Labyrinth game, has been
    added to the games page.
  • fische, standalone sound visualisation under linux, has been added to
    the applications page.
  • Space Droids Strategy, network RTS from a deep space, has been added to
    the games page.
  • Tile World, emulates “Chip’s Challenge”, has been added to the games page.
  • SpaceDroids3D, Space combat simulator mixed with RPG from Czech, has been
    added to the games page.
  • cityscape, open-storyline flying car-sim game life in The City (early
    days…), has been added to the games page.
  • Zero Bricks, Simple Breakout Clone in pure SDL, Written in just a few
    days, has been added to the games page.
  • The Demo Effects Collection, A collection of demo effects from the early
    days of the demo scene (Amiga, Atari etc.), has been added to the demos
    page.
  • UniverC, UniverC is a platform independent library, has been added to
    the libraries page.
  • The Cog Engine Project, a software suite aimed at allowing users to create
    video games without a knowledge of programming, has been added to the
    applications page.
  • EZ2D Game Engine, A game engine that is targeted to the newbie game
    developer to make the process of making games easier, has been added
    to the libraries page.

Very interesting, though poorly described here. The goal seems to be a
SDL-using library which replaces libc for increased sanity and portability
across platforms…

The website is confusing though. I still haven’t managed to download what
