There’s lots of new stuff on the SDL website:

  • The O’Reilly Network has a new article about SDL:
    “SDL: The DirectX Alternative”
  • Bulle, a 2D game similar to Arkanoid, has been added to the games page.
  • Le?bomber, a 2D game similar to Dyna-blaster, has been added to the
    games page.
  • TuxMath, an educational math tutor for children, has been added to the
    games page.
  • Scummer, a program to view LucasArts© games background images, has been
    added to the applications page.
  • FinalBurn, a fast CPS1/CPS2/Sega arcade emulator, has been added to the
    applications page.
  • Fergoo, a 2D worms style game, has been added to the games page.
  • Forgotten Destruction, a free portable real-time strategy game under
    construction, has been added to the games page.
  • Bill Kendrick’s “explosions” demo has been added to the demos page.
  • SDL_sound, a library to decode popular audio formats, has been added to
    the libraries page.
  • Digger/SDL, a remake of the classic Digger game, has been added to the
    games page

It was not remake, but something that the author calls “remastering”
(essentially disassembling and conversion of assembly code back into C). This
is not the same as rewrite, because all game algorithms remain exactly like in
original one.
