SDL_NumJoysticks() problems in debug mode

Hey!

I’m running SDL 1.2.0 on Win32/MSVC++ and SDL_NumJoysticks()
returns 0 in Debug mode, although it returns 1 (the correct value) in
Release
mode. SDL_NumJoystick is called right after SDL_InitSubSystem(
SDL_INIT_JOYSTICK) which succeeds in both debug and release
modes.

I’ve read other posts related to the flakyness of the joystick
code in SDL, but I’m wondering if anybody has seen the exact
same thing.
