I am Secretary for the “SDL Forum Society” <www.sdl-forum.org> and I have
just discovered this mailing list for “SDL”.
It seems obvious from the content of the mailing list that the meaning of
"SDL" in this case is completely different from the meaning in “SDL Forum
Society”.
I am sure that neither has right to exclusive use of the three letter
acronym, but it could be useful respective sites and mailing lists are
cross-linked. Can someone contact me about this?
BTW: what does SDL mean for this list?
Some feedback: HTML archive of this list is much too long to read into my
browser (perhaps others have the same problem.–

SDL stands for Simple Directmedia Layer and is a software project written
and maintained by Sam Latinga who is the lead software programmer for Loki
Games.
What does SDL mean for SDL-Forum Society?
SDL is a very important piece of software as it allows programs to be
ported from MacOS to Windows to Linux to BeOS with minimal hassle… Or at
least that is the goal…
The fact that this list is hosted by lokigames.com ought to keep people
from getting cross-linked and it has apparently been working so far until
now when you wrote to this list.
