SDL & voodoo3 problems

Hello!

I wrote program in SDL + OpenGL where I move around “world”. When camera
meet objects in this OpenGl world programm goes not responding and I got
error:
“SDL_app: walk.exe - Application Error : The exception Floating-point stack
check.
(0xc0000092) occurred in the application at location 0x07ae0b7c.”

When I run this programm on other computers all work fine… it’s craches
only on my workstation -> w2k + voodoo3. :frowning:

Someone can help me?

voodoo’s drivers are bad!

i heard this from lots of people when i asked about certain things…like my
gl app would crash on exit, sometimes even causing reboot. I didnt beleieve
them at first, but let me tell you what…since i got a geforece card, my
troubles have disapeared. Bottom line… the drivers for voodoo suck cause
3dfx is dead and you are basicly SOL with that video card. Sorry ):

Hey,

“SDL_app: walk.exe - Application Error : The exception
Floating-point stack
check. (0xc0000092) occurred in the application at location
0x07ae0b7c.”

You didn’t mention the compiler you were using, but a while back I
wrote an OpenGL app for Windows using the Borland C++ compiler, and
I had to include the following bit of code at the start of the
program to prevent similar problems from occurring:

// When compiling with Borland C++, we need to mask floating
// point exceptions. Failing to do this results in spurious
// crashes when using lighting or normalization in particular.
#ifdef BORLANDC
_clear87();
_control87(MCW_EM, MCW_EM);
#endif

There is no need to use this with Visual C++, AFAIK.

Hope it helps,–

Hello!
Thank you! Yep I have using free Borland C++ compiler. And this is compiler
error… because I tried to compile my program with gcc and it works under
voodoo3!

Thanks, iERiS>From: “All Your Software”
