SDL with XAA driver

I’m trying to figure out how to use SDL on top of an XAA driver. To be more
specific, I’m using the Intel i915 Embedded Graphics driver with Xorg 6.8.2.

I can’t get SDL to use hardware acceleration. I can only seem to get SDL to
work at all by setting SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 but this doesn’t give me hardware
acceleration.

Will SDL even work with this driver?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Xorg doesn’t expose the xaa interface to apps, so there’s nothing you
can do to exploit it, be it from SDL or from somewhere else.
However, Xorg exposes something called the Render extension. That is
something you might be able to use. But that’ll require writing code in
SDL since it’s not currently supported.
