Setting up SDL_image Win32

Call me stupid, but I do not know how to set up the SDL_image or SDL_mixer
libraries for use in Win32.

There are no binaries for it under Win32 - just Linux.

I’m not sure what I have to do because I’m using Borland 5.02 instead of
MSVC.

Do I have to make a .lib file from the .c files or something?
I tried using Borland’s make.exe to do something but nothing worked…

I is clueless.______________________________________________

hello dwight.
these libraries don’t come with any build information for borland.
were you able to get SDL compiled? i didn’t think it had any
borland support either, but perhaps i’m mistaken.
they do include MSVC project files, but i’m pretty sure there’s
no tool to use them with borland.

if worse comes to worse, you can download my precompiled set of
SDL and SDL libraries. the LIB files are in msvc format, but you
should be able to convert them to borland format with the
COFF2OMF tool. (or was it OMF2COFF, sorry can’t remember)

You are wrong. For using SDL with Borland - see Win32.faq.
For SDL_Image…
I added it directly to my project:
Copy&add to project IMG_tga.c,IMG_png,etc (exact what i need).
Copy SDL_Image.h and cut from it all unused functions.

#define LOAD_PNG
#define LOAD_TGA
in my project file.
or delete #else-branch of code in *.c files
(containing fake functions)

Yes, this is non-trivial, but it is exactly what i need and not a little bit
bigger :slight_smile:
