Settings for "plaympeg"? Use "transcode" to make it playable?

Hi,

i hope this is not off-topic here:

I installed “smpeg” and also the programs that came with it.
I want to use smpeg in own SDL programs to show some MPEGs.

I have an MPEG that i captured with my TV card (Hauppauge PVR 350,
ivtv driver). I postprocressed it with “AVIdemux2” and tried
every output format it supports.

MPlayer shows them all, plaympeg shows nothig or a black window.

What options do i need for transcode to generate an MPEG that
plaympeg can display correctly?

I agree, this is probably not the place for this question, any how…

You could try FFmpeg instead of smpeg. FFmpeg comes with an app called
ffplay which uses SDL.

I think your problem is that smpeg is MPEG1 based and your PVR-350 is
MPEG2 based.
