Sis 740 video card doubts

Hi people

I own a PCCHIPS M810DLU (I know it is awful) motherboard (onboard) with a sis 740 video card.
Under windows (2k), I played gta3, warcraft3, max payne, return to castle wolfenstein, half-life, among others 3d Games (I mean games that use 3d cards only).
But, I can’t make it work as a real 3d card under X11. I’ve mailed SiS/PCCHIPS and they said that they does not support linux.
Googling for it, I’ve found a page (DRI project) saying that 740 chipset does not support DRI.
There is another way to get arround it?
Does someone has any hint for me?

Thanks in advance for any help or info.–

This is not a “linux hardware support” list, this is an SDL mailing
list. This question has nothing to do with SDL. If your vendor does not
support it, and a DRI has yet to support it, the only workaround is to
write your own driver/support for it, or find something that lets
windows drivers work on linux (which I don’t believe yet exists for
video cards, but I could be wrong). Try one of the many linux forums,
usergroups, or mailing lists.
