SLD 1.1.1 and Aureal in Linux?

Has anyone here been able to use an Aureal sound card with SDL? I got
an error along the lines of SDL: Audio timeout - buggy audio driver?
(disabled) , and in /test in the souce dir loopwave would play the
first half a second and then would stop, and I’d have to kill it
manually. Anyone know a fix?

I was able to run loopwave and HOMM3 with esddsp using aureals latest
drivers. I thought that the DMA stuff might have helped with this too.
