So what changes are planned for SDL?

Well, I am currently putting some SDL tutorials together. I’ve worked on them
for over 2 months so far and I’ll probably spend another a month or 2 on them.
It’s in my interest to make sure my work doesn’t become obsolete.

Well here are my tutorials if you want to check them out:
http://lazyfooproductions.com/SDL_tutorials/index.php

Spending so much time on them, I don’t want to teach something that will be
deprecated soon.

What are the major changes being planned for SDL? I hear rumors the integration
of glSDL, multiple windows and all sorts of stuff. I’d have fact seperated from
rumors.

glSDL is just another video driver, implementing the SDL drawing
routines over OpenGL. The only issue would be using it efficiently,
and you can read tips on that here:
http://icps.u-strasbg.fr/~marchesin/sdl/glsdl.html

Multiple windows are being discussed for SDL 2.0, which nobody is
actively working on yet, so it will be awhile. I don’t think you have to
worry about any major changes to the API.

Nice! Very comprehensive set. Good job.

While SDL is in active development, I do not think it is such a fast moving
target that you will have to worry about it.

Not quite correct. Bob Pendeleton (http://www.gameprogramming.com) is/was
working on this, but, as you might imagine, it is a big job. I would not
expect it soon, so any SDL tutorial writers are safe.
