Some Questions

Hi everybody,

i’ve made a short SDL+OpenGL example that can be downloaded at:

http://www.s.netic.de/tmohr/cube-0.1.0.tar.bz2

That archive mainly contains one source file and some
autoconf scripts to compile it under Linux.

Now i have some further questions, it would be great if
somebody could answer them:

I use SDL AND OpenGL. Can i use SDL_BlitSurface() to overlay
some graphics just before SDL_GL_SwapBuffers()?

Are packages like SDL_image available for Windows? I’d like
to load PNG files from disk.

I’ve read somewhere that libsdl was ported to Sonys PS2, is
that correct?

Best regards,
Torsten.

No. You have to load the graphics as textures and use glOrtho.
It is also possible to use SDL_OPENGLBLIT, but it is excruciatingly slow and
subject to be removed.

SDL_image works under windows.

I’ve read it too.

Kobo Deluxe (which relies on SDL and SDL_image) runs on PS2 Linux, but
that’s about all I know about it…
