Spammer not banned?

The spammer “60” is still spamming…
it’s possibile to ban him ??

Can someone do something please ?

SkunkGuru.

There is no one “60”. If the wiki can get any other information about
the user it just lists the first part of the IP address of the machine
as the user ID. So far we have had 3 different "60"s with IP addresses
of
60.25.123.134
60.25.122.54
60.25.121.110

I can ban each individual IP address, or I can ban a block of addresses.
But, to block this spammer, it looks like I have to block an awful lot
of different IP addresses. I’ve blocked
60.25.121.*
60.25.122.*
60.25.123.*

which will hopefully stop this guy. If it doesn’t let me know.

BTW, looked it up. This address range is registered to www.apnic.net.
Anyone know anything about these guys? Are these guys known bad guys?
I’d hate to have to ban all their IP addresses, but I will if I have
to.

Keep me posted. You spot this stuff faster than I do.

It looks like the domain is legit, but that they have problems. The fact
that their main page:

Has a link titled “Spam & hacking help” is a bad sign. However, it does
have some links to using their database to track down the spammers and
contact the local network operator, or if that dosn’t work (or they are
the network op) prehaps enough information for law enforcement (ha):

http://www.apnic.net/info/faq/abuse/index.html

Quoting that:

Can APNIC investigate my complaint?

"No. You are welcome to use the APNIC Whois Database to find out where
to take your complaint, but APNIC is not able to investigate it for you.
As a registry, APNIC adopts and applies policies relating to the way in
which networks are addressed. But APNIC does not have any powers
(legally or practically) to regulate the conduct of Internet activity.

Laws relating to network abuse vary around the world. If you are not
able to get the cooperation of the network administrators, then you may
need to contact law enforcement agencies either in your jurisdiction or
the jurisdiction where the problem originates."

If anything, I’d suggest a redirect for people from this domain/ip block
to a page for how to get manual registration, and if the upkeep from
that gets too high, attempt to sort out this spammer.

APNIC Whois info here: http://www.apnic.net/apnic-bin/whois.pl

Some quotations:

inetnum: 60.24.0.0 - 60.30.255.255
netname: CNCGROUP-TJ
country: CN
descr: CNCGROUP Tianjin province network

role: CNCGroup Hostmaster
e-mail: abuse at cnc-noc.net

The spammer has just done it again on another ip address: 60.25.125.125.

http://www.apnic.net/apnic-bin/whois.pl?searchtext=60.25.125.125

According to the whois entry, it’s owned by “Tianjin province network” in China and they have the range 60.24.0.0 to 60.30.255.255.

Based on results from google, “Tianjin province network” are on quite a few spam lists (use quotes if you’re going to search for it)…

So ban the whole range? or at least 60.25.* for now?
