Testsprite2 opaque white boxes around smileys

Anyone else getting this? So far I tested with revisions 4440, 4446,
4474, and they all exhibit this behavior.

Running Debian 4.0, Athlon CPU, nVidia Corporation NV18 [GeForce4 MX
4000 AGP 8x] (rev c1)–

Yes, the smileys has the white background surround them.

I’ve tried a png with alpha values and they were respected. On Fri, Mar 27, 2009 at 7:32 PM, Donny Viszneki <donny.viszneki at gmail.com> wrote:

Yes, with the x11 renderer. (Also, the blend modes doesn’t work.)

The opengl renderer works fine.

I looked at all the video back-ends (? la SDL_VIDEODRIVER) and none of
these seems to be it (unless it’s “vgl” but I doubt it.)

How do you enable the opengl renderer backend? On Fri, Mar 27, 2009 at 11:16 PM, Gerry JJ wrote:

Yep, the X11 renderer doesn’t support blending modes right now. It’ll take the XRender support to make that happen. Do you want to take a crack at it?

I found x11 renderer it’s also unable to do the builtin scaling of
SDL_RenderCopy, also if you specify a scaling mode when you load the
texture. On Sat, Mar 28, 2009 at 5:16 AM, Gerry JJ wrote:
