Hi Sam,
I have ported a game originally written using pure DirectX.
Now it uses SDL. Can I share it with you people.
The main thing is that I don’t know the person who originally
created this game but the game came with source code. Can it still
be shared ??
If it is possible, I will try to upload it by creating an account on
SDL’s main site…right??
Waiting for your answer…
Thanks,
Nayan

To answer this myself, I’d say it depends…

… It depends on the license of the original game. Do they allow
derivative works? Redistribution? Etc. etc.
If it’s GPL or some other Open Source license, then the answer is
obviously ‘Yes!’ Otherwise, it depends on the rules they set when
they released the program (and its source).
If they didn’t include a license, then that was dumb on their part,
but I don’t think it gives you any rights to modify/redistribute. :^/
If it is possible, I will try to upload it by creating an account on
SDL’s main site…right??
Does the SDL site actually host project files now?
You might want something like a SourceForge.net account, and a project
to store the game sources, etc. SF insists on Open Source projects,
though…
GOod luck!
