I wondered if there was any SDL equivalent of wglMakeCurrent, or if I
even need to worry about that under SDL. Can SDL cope with multiple
OpenGL contexts active simultaneously?

No. It’s designed for a one-context system, much like SDL “2D” is
designed for a one window system.
