Hello,
I’ve compiled the code according to the directions but whenever I
run the tests or demos I get this:
XIO: fatal IO error 0 (Success) on X server ":0.0"
after 44 requests (42 known processed) with 2 events remaining.
I’m using Slackware 4.0 which is based on libc5 not glibc if that might
help.

libc5 systems are no longer supported. This should be added to the FAQ.

He probably does not have thread-safe Xlibs. I have upgraded mines and
SDL works well, still using libc5.
I can put up binaries for those who want them, drop me a mail.
