Why Is SDL2_TTF Not In *Ubuntu 13.10 Linux Distro?

Hi,

Why is SDL2_TTF not in next *Ubuntu 13.10 Linux distribution?
SDL2, SDL2_Image, SDL2_Mixer, & SDL2_Net all made it in, but not SDL2_TTF ?

Can someone from SDL call someone from Ubuntu
and get SDL2_TTF in *Ubuntu 13.10 in time for October 17th release date?

Thanks!------------------------

People in charge of SDL aren’t in charge of what libraries make it onto
Ubuntu? If you need it that badly you can just download the source and
build it

I’m pretty sure it is after the feature freeze so you won’t see it included
in the official repos until Ubuntu 14.04. Your best option is to build it
yourself. It’s not very complicated. Several people have explained to you
how to do it, just try it out. The only change I would suggest is to do:
./configure --prefix=/usr so that when you do the sudo make install, the
libs will end up in the /usr/lib directory rather than /usr/local/lib
directory.

For distribution, then you should learn how to make you’re own debian
packages. You can host the .deb on your own website or set up your own PPA.

on packages.ubuntu.com, it said it was imported from debian. Speaking
of, debian does not have them either.

I would recommend you contact debian to find out why it was not includedOn Sat, Aug 31, 2013 at 8:33 PM, Jonathan Greig wrote:

The package libsdl-ttf2.0-0 in Ubuntu Saucy [0] is just adopted from
Debian Sid, and there it is still listed as version 2.0.11-2 [1]

So I would suggest to poke the “Debian SDL packages maintainers” through
their mailing list or something update to 2.0.12. Then ask the Ubuntu
guys, to adopt the changes (Ubuntu MOTU developers).
