Dynamic vs. Static linking (was Re: RE:Why GPL)

This sounds like the sort of thing I’d expect to see from Mandrake. Has
any other RPM-based dist devolved to this level?

Redhat, a bit over a year ago… When I get a second comp and some time,
I’ll prolly play with linux again… but not right now.

Yes, they did seem to be trying to compete with Mandrake there for awhile,
gods know why…

Why do your mails appear as attached DAT and TXT files?

Because outlook is a fool. My messages are RFC-compliant PGP/MIME. They
are signed by my GnuPG public key so that should there be any question,
the integrity of my message can be verified. This is important with a
medium like email where messages are routinely forged, even if those
messages are most commonly spam. If you were to install PGP 5.0 or later
for Win32, outlook would quite suddenly learn what PGP/MIME is. The
second attachment is just the signature block.

The reason why this is done rather than just including a plain PGP signed
message is that mailers can abuse a PGP signed message, but don’t
generally break PGP/MIME.On Fri, Apr 19, 2002 at 10:40:12PM -0400, Steven James Stapleton wrote:
