Im evaluating 3d engines for a project and I would like to hear your
opinions. Im looking for project with the following features:
- SDL/OpenGL based of course (tested under Win/Linux)
- Licensed under LGPL
- Must allow to create a Dungeon Siege like game (graphical look i mean)
- Development stage: at least beta.
- Some documentation–

Two popular 3D engines seem to be:
Ogre (http://ogre.sf.net)
Crystal Space (http://crystal.sf.net)
Each should meet most of your requirments.

I tested ogre demos under Windos but it ran too slow on my P700 with an
nvidia vanta lt. I need somethin “lighter”.On Wed, 20 Nov 2002, Nathan Cournia wrote:

You should be able to get Open Scene Graph http://www.openscenegraph.org/
to render your stuff fast enough (if it’s at all possible)… Not really
a “light” package in other ways though…
