OK, it’s obvious that Sam’s got some sort of unwelcome guest in residence on his
computer, and it doesn’t seem to be going away. I tried emailing him off-list
when this first showed up, but it’s still happening. Does anyone have a way of
contacting him IRL?

Hi,

there’s not necessary anything on his PC. As mailing list relay all
mails coming from a subscribed mail address, a spammer just needs to
fake the sender’s email adress and obtaining one of these addresses from
the archives is no problem at all.

Hmm, it seems mailing list are good spam targets. Easy to get an
allowed address from, one mail will reach many receipients and both, the
ML and the ML server, may be whitelisted by the recipient or his mail
server.On Fri, 1 Apr 2011 05:28:05 -0700 (PDT), Mason Wheeler wrote:

It’s actually not on my computer, it’s somebody hacking the forum, and
fortunately it’s not reaching the mailing list (except when people reply to
it)On Fri, Apr 1, 2011 at 5:28 AM, Mason Wheeler wrote:
