Does anyone know if SDL will work on the Agenda (Linux-based PDA)?
I’ve just ordered one of the dev ones, and would like to start "porting"
some of my SDL-based games to it
Thx!

I just asked around and found the specs on the display is 160 pixels wide
by 240 pixels high, 16 greyshades.
If there IS (or will be) a way to run SDL apps on it, it’d be ultra-kickass
if the library handled the color->greyscale conversion, and could allow
the display to appear sideways.

All it takes is for one SDL geek (like YOU to get one and write some
drivers.
Most of the Linux handhelds use the framebuffer device interface, so
that should be no sweat. Audio might be more of a challenge, but that’s
less important.
I’m still interested in porting SDL to the VTech Helio and the
Dreamcast, but I just don’t have time right now. If I do this I’ll be
happy to share some notes on the subject.

FYI, I personally have a burned CDR of Linux for the DC running Quake (from
QuakeForge) with the freeware levels. I forget where I got this from, but for
those interesting in doing any game-related porting to the DC (esp SDL ;), you
may want to keep it in mind that someone out there has already gotten Quake to
run on it. Since Quake’s engine is now open-source, you /should/ be able to
obtain their source and see what they did.
I’m sure a search on Google would turn up some good results. On Tue, 20 Feb 2001, you wrote:
