Color problem

I’m trying to load a bmp using SDL_LoadBMP and then convert it into a
hardware surface. Problem is that when I do this, all the colours on the
hardware surface gets all messed up even though I use the same palette and
pixelformat for them both. I use the same bitdepth for the display surface
and have the HWSURFACE flag set. thanks for the help
