Contributing to SDL

Hi guys,

I’ve been lurking on the mailing list for a while. So I really want to
contribute with something to SDL in the little to none spare time that I
have :), but I can’t find a place with a TO-DO list or something similar.

The bugzilla is a bit confusing since almost all bugs are either assigned
to either Sam either Rayan. So I don’t know if a certain bug/task is
actually being worked on by Sam/Rayan or if it’s just there in the list
waiting for someone to take a look at it.

Unfortunately bugzilla worked super slow for me so maybe there are fields
in there that might provide a hint to what bug is without owner.

Just to clarify what contributions I am talking about, I am referring to
programming stuff.
Any help and advice is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alexandru Ene

Bugs get automatically assigned to Sam or Ryan depending on which component
the bug belongs to. The best way to look for something to do is to go
through the issues that have a state “NEW”, or if you see an issue that’s
"ASSIGNED" but you think you can make a contribution feel free to make a
comment and say so…who knows, you may be so unlucky to get it reassigned
to you ;)–
Gabriel.

Chances are, if you post a patch to anything, you probably beat us to it. Even if I was working on a bug and you sent in a fix for it before me, I wouldn’t complain.
