Is Double Buffering still a valid way of work in SDL?

I have, in my dev machine, a GEForce 6200 LE, but don’t know if this GPU
give support to DoubleBuffering. How to find out this?

Cna DoubleBuffering be actived without DirectX?

And when I use the windib driver, the only information I get is “Friendly
windo manager”. How to get further info?

When I use DirectX, my screen is flickering. Is it common?

One way to test would be to run dxdiag.
Just start the DirectDraw Test there and
you should see if your card supports it.
