Hi,
Is anyone working on supporting force feedback joysticks in SDL?
Linux has had a force feedback interface, and even a few working
drivers that adhere to it, for a couple years now- but there are
basically zero games that support it.
If nobody’s working on force feedback at the moment, are there
any potential users for FF support on this mailing list? I’m
only really interested in basic “rumble” support under linux.
Devices that have rumble motors are getting increasingly common,
and linux has support for many of them.
Is there enough interest in this that SDL would benefit from a
simple way to control ‘rumble’ actuators without exposing the
full complexity of a FF API?

Only you can prevent creeping featurism!
I’m highly interested in FF support under linux. Preferably via SDL, in order for it to be portable to windows (and maybe macos) too (so that i don’t rewrite the code). Sadly i have little idea about it (i have never coded any FF effects in any game), but if/when help is needed, don’t doubt to contact with me; i’ll try to help.On Sun, 12 Sep 2004 19:48:02 -0600, Micah Dowty wrote:
