Force feedback Joystick support

This should be a FAQ. :slight_smile:
Yes, it’s being planned, but there’s no implementation. If anyone is
interested in helping, I’m more than happy to accept the help. :slight_smile:

I was independently working on some Force Feedback inclusion on the
win32 side (since it’s the only supported platform with force feedback
device support now) and a couple of general api functions, but I
dropped it because I thought I read a email from you telling someone
on the list that you did’nt want to add support for it because it
would only support win32 at the moment. I’ll be happy to resume my
work if you want me to hack away at the win32 support (basically
rewriting SDL’s joystick support to use dinput instead of mmsystem and
adding a couple of generic functions).

That would be great. DInput joystick support is on the list for 1.2,
and the force feedback stuff wouldn’t be an official part of the API
until much later, but it would be great to have something to play with.
