Hi
Direct mode and fullscreen are two different things. I’ve attached demo
that shows how fullscreen SDL application may behave in window managed
environment.
It switches to fullscreen only when it has focus. It is done by moving
window onto fullscreen, override_redirect window and mode switching.
(BDW: SDL library aborts when switching is disabled)
It is also more liberal on video mode selection, if desired mode is not
present, it selects bigger one. SDL window is displayed with black frame.
Note that this demo was created experimental knowledge only. I’m newbie in
X programming.
