Hey,
I don’t know if this helps, but you can look at the level editor for GigaSun Jet for ideas. It’s not at all complete; You can only make walls. It’s also not very clean. Regardless, you might find inspiration.

Hi, Neil.
The link seems to be down.
Actually, I may be interested, if you can go on details about it.
http://www.cloudsprinter.com/random/blobobot.zip – this one surley works, i just dloaded it, but the server is on a machine from the stonea age connected to the internet by wet string.
well, it’s a platform game who’s main objective is not to be just another rubbish open source platform game ( sorry anyone who has made a open source platform game )
right now it is controlled by either keys or mouse, the mouse contol is actually quite playable ( this i thought for just to be different (yes i know abuse) and perhaps a DS / Wii port )
it is still just basic jumping about collecting blobs, with baddies that go up and down, baddies that go left and right, and baddies that go in circles (not uploaded yet)
with gun turrets that shoot side to side, up and down and diagonal gun turrets, that shoot bullets.
also it has platforms that go up and down and platforma that gop left and right, soon i hope to put platforms that rotatin in circles
this was all started when i was still in little much clue about coiding C properly so is basicallly a big fat mess, esp the level designer
right now i would like help getting a half decent level designer cos it is a mess, and gettiong a simple way to make levels with all the options avaliable, and leaving it open to add new features for later level features is a little beyond me
i have some time today so hopefully i will at least make a decent first level…
i was doing some madness of trying to actually draw the levels in inkscape, save out as a basic svg file then read that in, but my regexp / xml file parsing skills fail. a bit
right now level files look like this…
item x y speed health direction whatever length
eg…
plat1 200 400 5
platform 1 x200 y400 length5
anyway…
thanks
ps still figuring out this google mail shonk business… i hate web 2.0 or whatever its called this week
