List malfunctioning? Recieving extremely dated mails

Not sure exactly what’s going on, but recently I’ve started recieving
extremly anciently dated mails. Noticed that I just recieved a
list-reply to that last one, so It would appear it’s not just me. Is
this a bug? Is the list resending mails it’s realized it frogot to?

The past two times I’ve downloaded my mail this has happened (along with
the recieving of normal mails). In the first batch, I got these mails:

Subject Author Date
[SDL] SDL_RWops bug fixes and enhancements Antonio SJ Musumeci

I notice this every once in a while. You might notice that Sam Lantinga
only gets around to responding to list posts in a batch every month or so.
I think at that time he also goes into the SDL mailing list admin system
and approves held postings (ie, someone was dumb and tried to post to the
list without being subscribed, or forgot to tell their mail client which
email to ‘send from’).
