Hi all,
Seeing that the creators of vlc (http://www.videolan.org) figured
out how to do this, I took a peek at their code and figured out the
QuickTime calls needed to accomplish this. Linked below are the changed
files. SDL will have to link to QuickTime now to get this to work. I’ve
got Project Builder 2.0 beta projects here that address this:

The vlc code will also be useful for implementing CDROM support on
OSX, if anyone were so inclined.
