Migration to mailinglist _strongly_ recommended?

I like to use the newsserver interface of the SDL-ML at
news://news.lokigames.com/loki.open-source.sdl
The SDL-ML has migrated to libsdl.org some time ago but
I guess that the newsserver cousin can not be migrated
that easily.

on http://www.libsdl.org/mailing-list.html it reads

The news to mail gateway at Loki may continue to function,
depending on how difficult it is to migrate over. I recommend
that you join the mailing list, just in case it stops working.

Should this better be read as “I strongly recommend that you
join the mailing list, just in case it just stops working”?

I am just asking if the users that still go through the newsserver
(like me) should be encouraged a bit stronger to move over… It’s just
that I like the newsserver interface, ye know. (no other comments needed!)

Just use Gnus

“In other words standards are being formulated whereby the nonstandard
parts, which must conform to certain standards of non-standardization
are also to be handled only in a standardized nonstandard way in order
to standardize on the overall non-standardization. I hope this makes
the position clear.” – John Gordon, Zurich, 1984

No, just be aware that the mailing list interface exists if the news server
is down for any reason.
